Nursing Home Administrator Continuing Education

Hours: 50 Hours
Frequency: Biennially

 

At least 30 clock-hours in administration, which may include the following subjects:

1. General administration;
2. applicable standards of environmental health and safety;
3. local health and safety regulations;
4. departmental organization and management; and
5. community interrelationships;

At least 10 clock-hours in resident care, which may include the following subjects:
1. Psychology of resident care;
2. principles of medical care;
3. personal and social care; and
4. therapeutic and supportive care; and

A maximum of 10 clock-hours in electives, which shall be in the domains of practice or the “core of
knowledge” or in health-related fields. 
In-service education shall not be considered as a continuing education activity for the purpose of licensure renewal.

Frequency: New Hire and Quarterly

 

Orientation of new employees at the time of employment to the facility’s emergency management plan and quarterly review of the facility’s emergency management plan with employees and residents.

RN/LPN Continuing Education

Hours: 30 Hours
Frequency: Every 2 years

 

Mandatory Continuing Nursing Education: you must complete at least 30 contact hours of continuing nursing education approved by a state board of nursing or national nursing organization.
