Nursing Home Administrator Continuing Education

Hours: 24 Hours
Frequency: Biennially

 

Every nursing home administrator shall complete at least 24 contact hours in approved continuing education programs in each biennial renewal period. 

Continuing education programs must be approved by NAB.

All Staff Continuing Education (CBRF)

Hours: 15 Hours
Frequency: Annually

 

The administrator and resident care staff shall receive at least 15 hours per calendar year of continuing education beginning with the first full calendar year of employment.

Continuing education shall be relevant to the job responsibilities and shall include, at a minimum, all of the following:
1. Standard precautions.
2. Client group related training.
3. Medications.
4. Resident rights.
5. Prevention and reporting of abuse, neglect and misappropriation.
6. Fire safety and emergency procedures, including first aid.

Licensee and Provider Continuing Education (LAFH)

Hours: 8 Hours
Frequency: Annually

 

The licensee and each service provider shall complete 8 hours of training approved by the licensing agency related to the health, safety, welfare, rights and treatment of residents every year beginning with the calendar year after the year in which the initial training is received.

Licensee and Provider Continuing Education (CAFH)

Hours: 12 Hours
Frequency: Every 2 years

 

The sponsor shall be enrolled in or have completed 12 hours of department-approved training related to health, safety, welfare, rights and treatment of developmentally disabled residents every 2 years beginning with the second year of certification.
